Conclusions?

Top gifts need top "Askers" - Gift seekers. These are actual gifts received in the directed phase of the campaign. In any campaign, the top gifts set the standard for those that follow. The top gift must reflect the size of the overall goal. A campaign is won or lost in the top fifty gifts. By one hundred gifts, we know where we will finish. The lowest gifts are generally unsolicited donations or unchallenged donations.

Any capital appeal shows similar characteristics. I have directed million dollar appeals in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. I have directed million dollar appeals in Yass, Kilmore and Townsville. Two million dollars in a New Zealand national appeal. I have directed around fifty capital appeals across Australia; two in New Zealand.

Major gifts are there for the asking. I have seen personal gifts of $150,000 and $100,000 - in city and country - as well as $60,000's and $50,000's and know of others even greater. Australia and New Zealand.
