In June 1998, I was invited to deliver a plenary address at the Second, Fundraising Institute New Zealand Conference. I gave an update of "Bottles and Stubbies "

This confused some delegates and inspired others to the extent that we now have a number of enquiries for fundraising direction in New Zealand.

I also made some calls while in Auckland, out of which I was eventually appointed to direct an appeal for the New Zealand Catholic Bishops Conference, raising funds for the new Holy Cross Seminary for Diocesan Priests in Ponsonby.

This was a national appeal, spanning all six, New Zealand Dioceses: - Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.

This provided me with a rapid learning curve on New Zealand: we recruited leadership and appeal teams in each Diocese and found the pacesetting gifts to move our campaign. A good appeal and a great experience. I have now seen more of New Zealand than many Kiwis!
