A Parish Fundraising Package

The basic parish program that I follow spans three weekends: the first to motivate thoughts of Christian giving, the second to present the specific needs and vision of the parish and the third to encourage support through pledged giving.

The program is presented through:

• lay speakers at all Masses over the three weekends;
• a planned giving insert in the Sunday Bulletin each week;
• a program brochure sent to every family; and, I will suggest,
• a specific display of parish activity and vision on the second weekend or a stewardship function in the last week.

The program can be varied to suit local circumstances including the size of the parish and number of Mass centre's. More than three weekends may be needed

I recommend pledging be invited at all Masses on the final weekend. With pledging at Mass, a large visiting team will not be needed. However, we may have a small team, to contact selected families, with one training and allocation meeting and one week to complete visiting.

The only additional costs are normal program expenses such as printing, postage and office support.

The best direction is on site for the duration of the program but this can be prohibitively expensive for most parishes. My proposal here is to provide the parish with the professional experience and direction but relying more on local, day to day management.

(A compromise arrangement with occasional visit(s) to the parish to provide on-site training or direction can be arranged. I have done this in parishes and kept the cost to $6500 or less – better than most alternative stewardship providers!)

I recommend a 10 hour package which, for most parishes, should cover the basics of assistance with the actual running of the program, provided mainly via email but with telephone availability, through which I can, for example:

• Monitor and direct preparation including: analysis of current giving, recruitment of a committee, stewardship review and other matters.

• Draft or revise meeting agendas, weekly bulletins, program brochure, training materials and speaker notes which would normally include:

  • Three newsletters

  • One Program Brochure

  • Three Speakers’ Notes

  • Continuation procedures

  • Advice ‘on tap’ including telephone support to 9pm recognizing that most questions arise at meetings – outside of normal business hours!

• Monitor progress of the program.

• Instigate continuation procedures including pledge fulfillment

For a special introductory cost of $451.00 including GST which includes
a basic 5 hours of consultancy charged in 4 minute blocks.

OR

For a special introductory cost of $863.50 including GST which includes
10 hours of consultancy charged in 4 minute blocks.

Additional time will be charged at $90 per hour (pro-rata).

Fees will be revised at 30th June 2007.
